$1M-Winning Powerball Ticket Sold At FL Publix: Reports
The Powerball jackpot has jumped to $1.6B for Monday night's drawing, the fifth-largest in the game's history, lottery officials said.
MIAMI, FL — Though nobody hit the $1.5-billion jackpot in Saturday’s Powerball drawing, someone in Florida is $1 million richer.
A $1 million-winning ticket was sold at a Miami-area Publix ahead of the drawing, the Miami Herald reported.
Last week, on Dec. 13, a $1 million-winning Powerball ticket was also sold at a Clearwater Publix.

Saturday’s winner bought a Quick Pick ticket at the store, located at 9755 NW 41st Street in Doral.
The ticket matched all five white balls in Saturday’s drawing — 4, 5, 28, 52 and 69 — according to the Florida Lottery website.

It didn’t match the sixth number, 20, on the red Powerball, though.
Seven other tickets sold nationwide also won $1 million by matching the five white balls. Tickets were sold in California, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Ohio, while Michigan saw two winners, according to the Powerball website.
The Powerball jackpot has jumped to an estimated $1.6 billion as of Monday morning.
This is the fifth-largest prize in Powerball history, officials said.
The biggest U.S. jackpot was $2.04 billion in 2022. The winner bought the ticket in California and opted for a lump-sum payment of $997.6 million.
The next drawing will take place Monday at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee.
Tickets can be purchased until 10 p.m. ET in the Sunshine State.
The odds of winning Monday’s jackpot, which is the fourth-largest in Powerball history, are 1 in 292.2 million, according to Powerball.
The winner can opt for a lump-sum payment estimated at $735.3 million or an annuitized prize estimated at $1.6 billion. Both prize options are before taxes.
The annuity option offers one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5 percent each year, Powerball said.
Powerball is available in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. It is overseen by the Multi-State Lottery Association, a nonprofit group made up of state lotteries. Profits from ticket sales are used by states to support public education and other services.
