3rd Broward Student Arrested For Threatening Schools In Past Week
A third Broward student has been arrested in less than a week for allegedly making threats against schools, according to sheriff's office.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — A third Broward student has been arrested in less than a week for allegedly making threats against schools, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said Tuesday that a 16-year-old boy allegedly made threats on Friday and Monday against Cypress Bay High School in Weston, where he is a junior.
"The school was placed on a code red Friday, Dec. 6, after school employees received texts and emails warning there would be a shooting at the school," the sheriff's office said. "The school was thoroughly searched as detectives followed leads in an attempt to identify the sender."

On Monday, the sheriff's office announced that a 12-year-old girl was arrested over the weekend and accused of threatening to kill students at the Falcon Cove Middle School.
A 14-year-old Lauderhill girl was also arrested on Friday and accused of falsely reporting bomb threats at Lauderdale Lakes Middle School and nearby Oriole Elementary School on Thursday morning.

In the case of the Cypress Bay High School student, faculty and students received more threatening messages on Monday causing the school to be placed on code yellow.
"Through the investigation, detectives were able to arrest the male, who is a junior at Cypress Bay," the sheriff's office said. "He’s being transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center to face two counts for making a false report concerning the use of a firearm and two counts for writing threats to kill."
The threat against Falcon Cove Middle School was allegedly made over Snapchat on Friday, according to the sheriff's office.
