Arrest documents said that Crag lived with the girl, her mother and two other children in the apartment. Earlier in the evening police said Crag feared there were armed men outside the apartment.
"I just pray and thank God for her being all right," the child's grandmother told reporters outside the hospital where her granddaughter was recovering earlier on Tuesday. The child was identified by Local 10 News as Sasha Star Wheeler.

Police said the child was struck on the left side of her back but the bullet passed through her stomach. They said that police recovered a handgun as well as suspected heroin.
Officer Kiara Delva of the Miami Police Department told Patch that investigators discovered a bullet hole in a window at the child's apartment. She said that a Miami police officer was flagged down following the shooting, which occurred shortly before 3 a.m.
In addition to the other charges, Craig was also charged with illegal drug trafficking and a weapons violation.
