1. A drowning dog was rescued from a Belle Meade canal on Wednesday, Miami Fire Rescue shared on social media. The pooch, a boxer mix, was likely in the water for about three hours, according to WPLG. (Miami Patch)

2. At the 11th Judicial Circuit, the rent hikes over the last year in Miami-Dade County priced lawyers and support staff out of homes in need to find higher-paying jobs. "In one year, we've lost 92 lawyers,” said State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle. "Imagine the impact of that." (CBS Miami)

3. A proposal to build an 82-story supertall tower called Major on Brickell Avenue has been submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration. Major is planned to top off at a height of 1,042 feet above ground, or 1,049 feet above sea level, according to the new FAA filing. (The Next Miami)

4. Police have made several arrests after, they said, a man was shot at the Town Center at Boca Raton, sending the victim to the hospital and causing chaos inside the mall. Police said they have detained a few people who may be considered suspects in this case. (WSVN)

5. Pembroke Pines Commissioner Angelo Castillo pushed for the city-owned land along Pines Boulevard and 208 Avenue to be environmentally preserved during Wednesday night’s commission meeting. The vote to keep the land for eagles was unanimous. (WPLG Local 10)
