1. "Death is a Drag," an evening of drag shows and presentations about funeral traditions and historic cemetery preservation, is happening tonight in South Florida's Hialeah from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The show is free to attend and registration is available online. The event is hosted by The Florida Public Archaeology Network. (Miami Patch)
2. A member of the security staff at Coconut Creek High School in Broward County is under investigation for sexual misconduct, according to 10 News. The district employee has not been charged with a crime at this time and parents said they were shocked that the school district did not alert them to the development. (WPLG Local 10)
3. A South Florida resident infuriated over antisemtic comments made by Kanye West recorded himself burning several of his Yeezy sneakers on a fire pit. The shoes are worth more than $15,000 or around $500 a pair. Several companies have cut their ties to Kanye West after the comments including Adidas, Gap, Peloton, and others. (WSVN)
4. The University of Miami Hurricanes defeated Virgina 14-12 in a quadruple-overtime thriller football game on Saturday. It was the first career game for freshman quarterback Jake Garcia with Miami. Next the Hurricanes will return home tor a matchup against rival Florida State. (AllHurricanes.com)
5. City of Miami Beach voted on Wednesday unanimously to prohibit discriminatory practices "based on the texture or style of a person’s hair," according to a news release. The expanded protections "now include hair texture associated with race, such as braids, locks, afros, curls and twists," according to the release. (CNN)

- The Cutler Bay Town Council has unanimously approved The Contemporary & MedSquare development project. The $100 million mixed-use development is planning to include medical office space, retail space, and apartments for individuals ages 55 and older. (The Real Deal - Miami)
- A possible migrant vessel washed ashore on Miami Beach on Friday and has been removed from the beach. Authorities believe the original inhabitants of the boat were captured at sea. No one was found on the boat. (WSVN)
- Miami Police Department shared: "This Halloween , make sure to keep small children close and within eyesight, use crosswalks and traffic signals for crossing the street, and teach kids to call 911 in case of an emergency. Be safe while you trick-or-treat!" (Miami Police Department via Facebook)
