1. A $170 million Miami Beach compound has beat the Florida asking price record. It offers more than 125,000 square feet on prestigious, guard-gated La Gorce Island. It would set a sales record if it sells at that price as well. (Miami Patch)

2. Southland Mall in Cutler Bay has been acquired by two real estate investment firms that have big plans for the property. Electra America, a real estate private equity firm, and BH Group, a Miami-based private real estate investment firm, paid just over one hundred million dollars for the roughly 809,000 square foot mall which is on about 80 acres of land. 3. An intense inferno began been spreading in the Everglades since Thursday, and residents have been dealing with the smoke this week. Flames and smoke continued to fill the air as wildfires continued in the Florida Everglades on Friday. The intense smoke caused drivers in West Broward to receive a smoke warning. (WSVN)

4. Overtown's Block 45 tower is moving forward with the planning and permitting process. The 36-story tower has already been approved by City of Miami Planners, with approval granted in January 2020. Plans have now been submitted to Miami-Dade County planners, with documents filed earlier this week. (The Next Miami)

5. Governor Ron Desantis was in Hialeah on Thursday morning for Miami-Dade’s first-ever countywide National Prayer Breakfast. The first Thursday of each May has been designated National Prayer Day. On Thursday, faith leaders along with elected officials were on hand for the county's first annual event. (CBS Miami)
