- City of Opa-locka is celebrating progress in the city's plans.
- Miami-Dade County and Miami Beach are working to get the Metromover connection project going by 2029.

- Miami Police investigated an apartment burglary that police said happened Saturday at around 2:41 p.m. at SLS Brickell Miami. The suspect was not found and the investigation is still underway as of Sunday evening. Residents at the building shared the investigation on social media. (WPLG Local 10, NBC Miami)
- Omer Yurtseven of Miami HEAT hosted an event at Smorgasburg in Miami's Wynwood neighborhood on Sunday to help people impacted by the earthquakes that ravaged parts of Turkey and Syria. Proceeds were donated to AFAD, the World Food Program, and AHBAP. (WPLG Local 10)
- South Florida's City of Opa-locka has unveiled its new city seal design and held a ribbon-cutting for its new commission chamber on Jan. 27. The city's Company Administration Building or its "historic city hall," should be completed this year. The 2023 State of the City Address is available online to view. (Miami's Community News)
- Miami-Dade County is seeking Miami Beach's support to connect the Metromover to Miami Beach by 2029. The price of the Metromover would increase to $2.25 and is currently free for riders. The project is expected to cost $1 billion with most of the money from the county and the rest from the state. (Miami Today)
- Bentley Residences, an upcoming 63-story luxury tower, will begin construction this spring, according to CNN. Completion on the development project is expected to finish by 2026. It will become the tallest oceanfront building in the United States at 749 feet tall. (The Next Miami, CNN)
