- Miami Beach leaders have decided against curfews for spring break for now amid shootings and violence. Commissioners cited the need for business in the community. The owner of Mango's Tropical Cafe said that nightlife businesses are being unfairly targeted over the violence. (WSVN)
- The Republican-led Florida legislature is seeking to override local tenant laws and prevent rent control and other "tenant rights" laws from being passed by cities in Florida, to the dismay of local leaders in South Florida battling and affordable housing crisis. Rep. Ashley Gantt (D-Miami) said the bill is "very offensive" to her as a renter. Rent has climbed astronomically during the pandemic, while wages have failed to keep up. (WLRN, WESH)
- Miami-native Miguel "el Skipper" Quintero has filed to run for office and challenge Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava in 2024. He is the first challenger to file against Cava. Quintero wants to focus on accountability and transparency in his campaign. (Florida Politics)
- High-speed rail company Brightline has recently launched a shuttle service that will transport passengers to and from Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale- Hollywood International Airport to Brightline stations. The shuttle will also visit 3 locaitons on South Beach. (CBS Miami)
- Cutler Bay is hosting its annual Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cutler Ridge Park, located at 10100 SW 200 St. Guests can enjoy free photos with the Easter Bunny, live music, food trucks, Easter egg hunts, and more. There will be two bunnies on-site. (Miami's Community News)
