  1. Supporters of Ukraine gathered Friday in South Florida at Hallandale Beach to rally in support of the nation at war one year after Ukraine was invaded by Russia. Locals reflected on their family members fighting at home and spoke about their desite for the war to end. (WSVN)
  2. South Florida could have a direct connection to Orlando via high-speed rail by June of this year, according to Brightline. The service plans to eventually run 32 trains daily between Miami and Orlando. Most of the work on the line is done with progress at 90 percent, but the certification process is still underway. (TCPalm)
  3. The 32nd Annual Asian Culture Festival is coming Saturday, March 4 and Sunday, March 5 to South Florida's Tropical Park at 7900 SW 40th Street. A number of Asian countries will be represented at the annul event. This year the Consulate General of Japan in Miami will be a platinum sponsor for the gathering and host a booth with origami, Japanese writing, Japanese cultural trivia, information on teaching English in Japan with JET, and more. Guests can also enjoy Japanese cultural performances. (Miami's Community Newspaper)
  4. The remaining $2 million to $3 million from the tragic Surfside condo collapse settlement will be distributed to victims form the incident. It will be up to the victims how they use the remaining funds. The Dubai-based developer who acquired the land is also working on building a memorial of the incident at the site. (WPLG Local 10)
  5. Chef Monika Domínguez is opening Dale Street Food on March 1 at Time Out Market Miami with her cousin Oriel. The concept will feature contemporary Cuban cuisine mixed with Asian flavors. Dishes will include ramen made with Cuban shredded beef, guava and cheese gyoza, and soy-glazed croquetas yakitori. Historically Havana had Asian influence as well with Chinese migrants settling there in the 1850s as laborers. (Time Out Miami, ThoughtCo.)
