1. A small plane made an emergency landing in South Florida on Wednesday, according to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) news release. The plane landed near FHP troopers on U.S. 27, near mile marker 39, around 3:30 p.m. (Miami Patch)

2. A Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) detention deputy has been hospitalized after accidentally shooting herself in the leg at a gun range on Wednesday. She was transported to Broward Health Center for treatment. The injuries to her leg are not life-threatening. (WSVN)

3. Miami Dade College (MDC) has announced the appointment of María Carla Chicuén as the new Executive Director of Cultural Affairs. "We are thrilled to welcome María Carla Chicuén back to Miami Dade College as our new Executive Director for Cultural Affairs," said Dr. Maryam Laguna Borrego, who is the Vice President for External Affairs & Strategy and Chief of Staff. 4. A local music video director is still in critical condition after he was shot outside The Licking in Miami Gardens two weeks ago. A total of 10 people were shot that night, according to authorities. Four of the shooting victims are still in critical condition and the other six are out of the hospital, according to police. 5. Casa Bufala is now open in the Sunset Harbour neighborhood of Miami Beach. The concept is being led by Italian restaurateur Lucas D'Angelo. Severeal locations are in the works including a West Palm Beach location planned for 2024. (Subscription: South Florida Business Journal)
