Cops Go To Bat For Miami Magic
The Florida state champion Miami Magic will play an exhibition game with members of the Miami Police Department on Sunday afternoon.

MIAMI, FL — If you've got $5, a love of baseball and a desire to help your fellow Miamians, you won't want to miss the Florida state champion Miami Magic play an exhibition game with members of the Miami Police Department on Sunday afternoon. Proceeds will help send the Magic to Seattle, where the team will compete in the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games.
"This is an incredible group of disabled adults," explained Officer Michael Vega of the Miami Police Department.
Most of the team members have Down syndrome or autism, according to Vega, who said the Magic hopes to bring back gold.

Pastor Gregory Thompson will give the invocation while Livan and Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez, will pitch the first game ball.
Sunday's game takes place at Grapeland Baseball Park, 1550 NW 37th Ave.
