Here are the top stories in Miami today:
1. Eligible voters will be able to participate in early voting starting today, Monday, Oct. 24. Only voters registered by Oct. 11 are eligible to vote early. Early voting is available in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe counties. (NBC Miami)
2. The USNS Comfort docked at PortMiami on Sunday morning to pick up supplies and additional aid for its next humanitarian mission as part of Operation Continuing Promise. The operation aims to help countries still battling COVID-19 with medical services and aid. The ship crew includes military members and civil service mariners. (WPLG Local 10)
3. Rail cargo volume at PortMiami has slightly decreased in 2022, but still remains the second largest recorded in history. Volume initially surged due to the pandemic, but PortMiami remains the confident that volume will still pickup in 2023. (Miami Today)
4. A developer has broken ground on an apartment complex in Fort Lauderdale after obtaining a $77.5 million construction loan. The development will be built in Progresso, a historically Black neighborhood. The Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) provided $12 million in funding for the project. 5. La Placita Taco Grill is a new Mexican restaurant in Miami's Little Havana neighborhood, located at 6420 Bird Rd., serving a variety of cheap eats. Chef Daniel Aguilera is from Mexico City and his partner is from Merida, Yucatan. (The Miami Hurricane)

- The Hometown Heroes Parade is apporaching on Sunday, Oct. 30 at FTX Arena at 601 Biscayne Blvd. It will celebrate first responders for all their work during the pandemic. (Mayor Daniella Levine Cava via Twitter)
- Muriel Siebert Financial Corp. is moving its headquarters from New York City to Miami Beach. The move comes as a number of financial firms relocate from The Big Apple to what some are calling "Wall Street South."
