Ex-Miami Dolphins Defensive Back Vontae Davis Found Dead In FL Home
Former Miami Dolphins defensive back Vontae Davis has died, the team announced Monday.

MIAMI — Vontae Davis, a former defensive back in the NFL who played for the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills, has died, the Dolphins announced Monday. He was 35.
"We are heartbroken by the sudden passing of and extend our deepest condolences to his family & loved ones during this difficult time," the Dolphins tweeted.
Police said on Monday that officers responded to a medical call after a house assistant found Davis deceased, according to NFL.com.

Preliminary information suggests that foul play was not involved in Davis' death, according to police.
The Southwest Ranches home where he was found is owned by Davis’ grandmother Adaline Davis, WSVN reported.

Davis played 121 games at cornerback over 10 seasons.
After playing at Illinois in college, Davis was drafted by the Dolphins in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft at No. 25 overall. He spent three seasons with the Dolphins before being traded to Indianapolis, where he played six seasons. Davis played one game in his final season with the Bills in 2018, retiring halfway through a game in September 2018.
Davis was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2015 with the Colts. He finished his career with 22 interceptions and three forced fumbles.
“Extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Vontae Davis. A great guy, teammate, player. My prayers to Vontae’s family,” Colts owner Jim Irsay tweeted.
Illinois assistant basketball coach Chester Frazier said the school "lost a great today."
"RIP TO @vontaedavis man nothing but good memories of that dude in school!!! Praying for the Davis family!!" Frazier tweeted.
Davis' friend Bobby said: "Life will never be the same."
"Them FaceTime calls etc damn I wish we could have one more convo," he wrote in a Facebook post.
