A father of twins was seriously injured on Father's Day when he tried to help a fellow boater at Elliott Key, according to a GoFundMe page.

HOMESTEAD, FL — A father of twins was seriously injured on Father's Day when he tried to help a fellow boater at Elliott Key, according to a GoFundMe page set up to help the family with medical expenses. Jonathan Cruz has undergone multiple surgeries since the incident. Elliott Key is located at Miami-Dade County's Biscayne National Park.
"He has gone through major surgeries and will continue to have more surgeries done," explained the GoFundMe page. "He is the sole provider for his family. He is fighting hard for his wife and twins. We have faith that he will continue to fight."
The campaign had raised $9,645 of its $30,000 goal as of Monday night.
