FBI identifies Suspect In 2 Miami Bank Heists

The FBI believes it knows who is responsible for two Miami robberies within 25 minutes of one another.

MIAMI, FL — The FBI believes it knows who is responsible for two Miami robberies within 25 minutes of one another.

"The FBI is seeking information about David Veras, 39, of Miami, Florida, for his alleged involvement in two South Florida bank robberies," according to Special Agent Michael Leverock and spokesman Jim Marshall of the FBI in Miami.

The first robbery took place at 2:59 p.m. Monday at a Bank of America branch located at 2655 NW 54th Street in Miami.

The second robbery took place at 3:22 p.m. Monday — 23 minutes later — at a Chase Bank branch located at 801 SW 27 Ave. in Miami.

"Investigators believe Veras was involved in the robbery of two banks, both on Dec. 23, 2019," Leverock and Marshall said on Thursday.

Veras allegedly entered both banks and demanded money from employees before escaping with an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was injured during either of the robberies.
