FL Reports 54 More Coronavirus Deaths; 177 New Hospitalizations
Florida health officials reported 54 new coronavirus deaths Tuesday and 177 new hospitalizations.
TALLAHASSEE, FL — Florida health officials reported 54 new coronavirus deaths Tuesday and 177 new hospitalizations over the previous 24-hour period.
With 1,096 new cases, Florida now has 66,000 coronavirus cases, up from 64,904 a day earlier. The state's death toll rose to 2,765 from 2,712 a day earlier.
Fourteen Florida counties reported 54 new deaths Tuesday compared to 12 new deaths Monday, 12 on Sunday, 28 new deaths Saturday, 53 new deaths Friday, 42 new deaths on Thursday, 35 new deaths Wednesday and 71 new deaths last Tuesday.

Miami-Dade reported seven deaths on Tuesday. Palm Beach County reported 15 new deaths. Broward County reported three new deaths. One Florida county reported one fewer death.
Lee County reported seven new deaths. Manatee County reported six new deaths. Pinellas County reported four new deaths. Polk County reported three new deaths.

Hillsborough County reported two new deaths as did Martin County.
Hendry County reported one new death as did Jefferson County, Sarasota County, Volusia County and Washington County.
Miami-Dade reported 19,980 cases of the virus Tuesday. Nearby Broward County, which includes Fort Lauderdale, reported 8,035 cases. Palm Beach County, which includes West Palm Beach, reported 7,518 cases.
Florida had a 5.2 percent positive test rate for the virus based on a total of 1,259,283 tests that had been administered as of Tuesday. The number of hospitalizations in Florida increased to 11,185 from 11,008 a day earlier.
Hillsborough County, which includes Tampa, reported 2,923cases. Orange County, which includes Orlando, reported 2,449cases.
