Florida Sees Second Straight Day Of 2,000-Plus Coronavirus Cases
The number of new coronavirus cases in Florida increased by 2,016 on Sunday, the second straight day of 2,000-plus increases.
TALLAHASSEE, FL — The number of new coronavirus cases in Florida increased by 2,016 on Sunday, the second straight day where new cases exceeded 2,000 in a single 24-hour period.
Four Florida counties reported six new deaths Sunday over the previous 24-hour period. That compares to 48 new deaths Saturday, 30 news deaths Friday, 47 new deaths Thursday, 36 on Wednesday, 54 new deaths Tuesday, 12 on Monday and 12 last Sunday.

Health officials reported 68 new hospitalizations from the coronavirus across Florida over the previous 24-hour period.
The total number of cases climbed to 75,568, up from 73,552 a day earlier. The state's death toll rose to 2,931 from 2,925 a day earlier.

Miami-Dade reported three new deaths Sunday. Palm Beach County reported one new death. Lee County reported one new death as did St. Lucie County.
Miami-Dade reported 21,917 cases of the virus Saturday. Nearby Broward County, which includes Fort Lauderdale, reported 8,928 cases. Palm Beach County, which includes West Palm Beach, reported 8,833 cases.
Florida had a 5.4 percent positive test rate for the virus based on a total of 1,409,992 tests that had been administered as of Sunday. The number of hospitalizations in Florida increased to 11,942 from 11,874 a day earlier.
Hillsborough County, which includes Tampa, reported 3,613 cases. Orange County, which includes Orlando, reported 3,130 cases.
