FL's Best Mexican Food Is At This FL Eatery, New List Says

FLORIDA — When it comes to indulging in Mexican cuisine in Florida, the best eats can be found at Talavera Cocina Mexicana in Coral Gables, according to a new list.

To compile a new feature showcasing the best Mexican restaurants in each state, cooking website LoveFood.com sorted through user reviews, awards, and accolades to determine which eatery residents flock to for their fix of tacos, fajitas, and guacamole. They also took the first-hand experiences of employees into account when making the list.

According to the list, Talavera Cocina Mexicana is worth the stop in South Florida.

Located a few miles south of Miami, the restaurant is named after Mexico’s famous pottery. The menu combines classic Mexican cuisine, regional street food, and seasonal specialties.

"The magnificent moles are made daily from scratch, and the grilled huaraches — house-made corn masa flatbreads with black bean purée, salsa verde, and goats' cheese — are a customer favorite," the staff at LoveFood.com wrote.

Online reviews also appear to sing Talavera Cocina Mexicana's praises and often mention their mole, taxos, ceviche and chips.

"We started our dinner with ceviche verde as a shared appetizer. Fantastic presentation and delicious. I decided to go out on a limb and ordered the Mole coloradito. It was superb! My wife ordered our server’s favorite- don guillermo - medium rare. She loved it. I ate a bite - very good ! Our friend loved her mole blanco," one Trip Advisor reviewer shared.

"Tacos were perfect. Quesadillas were cheesy and yummy (may be too greasy for my taste). Ceviche verde was fantastic, as was guacamole," a Yelp reviewer wrote.
