- OpenTable has released a list of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants In America for 2023. Latitudes Key West made the list in South Florida. Latitudes is on the private island of Sunset Key and offers an upscale seafood and steak experience. (Florida Patch)
- A South Florida man has been arrested for allegedly opening fire at a Florida City Police officer in a cruiser on Saturday night, according to police. Police said the incident happened near Northwest Seventh Avenue and Second Street in West Miami-Dade. The officer was not injured in the incident. (WSVN)
- Former Miami Dolphins and NFL star Vontae Davis was arrested and charged with DUI this weekend, according an arrest report from Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The report said Davis crashed his Tesla into a disabled Toyota Tundra on the side of the road and hit a pedestrian next to the car in the incident. Davis refused field sobriety tests and a breathalyzer test from police and was taken to jail Saturday night. (NBC Miami)
- A World War II veteran was honored on her 100th birthday on Saturday in South Florida. Representatives from the Miami Dolphins, Miami Marlins and Florida Panthers joined her at Papa's Raw Bar in Lighthouse Point, which is her favorite restaurant. Broward County proclaimed the day "Edith Vancheri Day" in her honor. (WPLG Local 10)
- A new study from sportsbook website NJ.bet ranked Miami No. 3 on the list of top cities to watch the Super Bowl game. The criteria used in the study included pizza accessibility, number of bars and sports bars, number of liquor stores, game day travel safety, and overall fan enthusiasm, based on data from review giant Yelp.
