Fugitive With Miami Ties Sought In Deadly New York Shooting

Police allege the man shot and killed a 73-year-old man in New York.

MIAMI — Authorities in Nassau County, New York, are on the lookout for a wanted man they say has ties to Miami and Fort Myers.

Nassau County Police allege the man, 50-year-old Yonel Pitaud, shot a Joseph Rosembert, 73, multiple times. The victim died from his wounds after being rushed to a hospital.

The man has not been found, but police said he has ties to Smyrna, Tennessee; Hampton and McDonough, Georgia; Fort Myers and Miami, Florida; and Haiti.

Police ask anyone with information on Pitaud's whereabouts to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-44-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
