1. Residents were evacuated from an apartment building in Hialeah at West 23rd Street and Palm Avenue on Monday. The evacuation is the latest in a series of evacuations across South Florida with the roof at this complex collapsing and the building being "deemed unsafe" by officials. Hialeah Mayor Esteban Bovo Jr. said the building passed recertification in 2018. (WSVN)
2. Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava is speaking out after a USDA report on underfed dolphins at Miami Seaquarium was released and said she is "deeply disturbed" by the revelations. Miami-Dade Parks department is issuing The Dolphin Company a formal Notice of Noncompliance for failing to identify and resolve the problem. PETA protesters recently organized demanding changes. 3. Miami Beach Convention Center has been named one of Exhibitor Magazine's "2023 Centers of Excellence." The criterion for selection includes facility and functionality, location and accommodations, service and execution, expansions and upgrades, as well as awards and industry participation. W Miami located at 485 Brickell Ave. has announced the appointment of new Executive Chef Juan Rivera and the addition of ADDiKT's Sunday Brunch at the hotel's 15th-floor restaurant, ADDiKT Modern Kitchen. Rivera has over 15 years of experience working with luxury hotel brands. New options include Shrimp & Grits, Mango and Chia Seed Pudding, Chilaquiles & Eggs, and a Cubanito Sandwich. 5. Rolled is now open in Miami at 10524 SW 8th St. from the team behind Night Owl Cookies. The concept specializes in extravagant cinnamon rolls and coffee. There are 10 different flavors to choose from on the menu including guava and cheese, tres leches, and Funfetti cake. (Eater Miami)
