LAKELAND, FL — A Lakeland police officer who was attending a K-9 training program in Okaloosa County over the weekend was arrested on suspected driving under the influence.

Robin Tillett of the Lakeland Police Department said Officer Chad Landry was arrested by the Okaloosa Sheriff’s Office early Saturday morning.

"The incident involves no other employees or citizens," according to Tillett. "Lakeland Police Department supervision was sent to gather further information and collect city property."

Landry was placed on administrative leave while the department conducts an administrative investigation.

"Chief Garcia spoke with Sheriff Ashley of Okaloosa County and expressed his dire concern with this incident," Tillett said. "The sheriff offered his agency’s full cooperation."

Landry joined the Lakeland Police Department four years ago and was recently assigned to the K-9 unit, according to Tillett.
