1. The iconic clock tower on Lincoln Road in South Beach is planning to undergo a renovation from one of the top design architects in the world. Lord Norman Foster’s Foster + Partners is overseeing design with Kobi Karp. A hearing with the Historic Preservation Board is planned for Tuesday, Dec. 13. (The Next Miami)

2. A Miami woman has been arrested for her role in redirecting payments from the Florida Retirement System to her own personal bank account, authorities announced Friday. Authorities said the woman redirected payments of up to $185,558.27 over a 12-year period. She is facing three counts of wire fraud and two counts of aggravated identity theft. (WPLG Local 10)

3. The Deering Estate Foundation's fifth annual "Mistletoe & Martinis" holiday event at Deering Estate is Friday, Dec. 9, from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. It will feature a 1920s theme to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the construction of the Stone House. (Miami's Community News)

4. The North Palm Beach Village Council in South Florida passed new restrictions on two-story homes in late October, including a 30-foot height cap on two-story homes, according to the Palm Beach Post. Residents complained about ugly housing being built in the area. (Subscription: The Real Deal Miami)

5. Chicago-based group Parker Hospitality is expanding into South Florida in 2023 with two new locations of The Hampton Social, known as the "Rosé All Day" restaurant and bar. The Hampton Social's Miami location will open in the spring in the former Fado Irish Pub space at 901 S. Miami Ave. A Delray Beach location is planned for January 2023.
