- Controversy continues to swirl around the fate of the Little Haiti Cultural Center after the building was allegedly slapped with an "unsafe structure notice" by Miami officials. Residents immediately began organizing and contacting the press. An official said Monday that the building was never deemed unsafe amid the outcry and left residents concerned they are being kicked out of their home by developers. (NBC Miami)
- A man who authorities said was armed during a domestic dispute is dead after Miami-Dade police opened fire inside a Northwest Miami-Dade home. Police said the suspect was threatening two family members. The officer-involved incident happened near Northwest 103rd Street and 14th Avenue on Thursday. (WSVN)
- Broward County Sheriff's Office (BSO) is asking the public for help identifying a man allegedly caught on surveillance camera footage beating a Jewish man in South Florida's Dania Beach. Police said the crime occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 5:30 p.m. near the 2400 block of Stirling Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO at 954-321-4200. (CBS Miami)
- The EDITION Hotel & Residences, Marriott's five-star hotel luxury brand, is coming to Fort Lauderdale in South Florida. The EDITION brand opened in Water Street Tampa recently and has upcoming locations in Tokyo and Rome. The concept is expected to include a rooftop bar, restaurant and pool. Architecture is expected to be done by ODA of New York and Adache Group of Fort Lauderdale. (The Next Miami)
- City of Miami commissioners faced the ire of Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Alan Fine recently after showing "favoritism" and "personal preference" to a developer planning to redevelop the historic Virginia Key. The city plans to appeal the ruling. (Miami Today)

- A 15-year Miami-Dade police veteran killed in an ATV crash in 2018 was remembered with a street renamed in his honor by Miami-Dade Police. The street near U.S. 1 and Southwest 211th Street is now known as "Police Officer Jermaine Brown Way." (WPLG Local 10)
