- Miami Police are asking the public for help locating an alleged burglar in an incident on Jan. 23 in the Flagami neighborhood near N.W. 51st Avenue and 2nd Terrace. The incident was captured on surveillance camera footage. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Miami Police Burglary unit at 305-603-6030. (CBS Miami)
- Miami's Mountain Valley Spring Water has failed state inspections from Florida due to high bacteria and a false ingredient list. The Miami facility bottles Mountain Valley Water, Mountain Valley Spring Water , Evian and Diamond Spring Water. The issues were later corrected after a "Stop Order" was issued against the bottling facility by an inspector. (FL Keys News)
- An investigation is underway after an early morning shooting on Monday in Miami's Little Havana. The incident happened in the 1000 block of West Flagler Street. One man was injured and sent to the hospital in critical conditon, according to authorities. (NBC Miami)
- The Miami metro area was ranked 9th in overall volume in December for mortgages amid high mortgage rates. South Florida recorded the highest average mortgage interest rate among the 20 largest metros in the United States. The Miami metro average was 6.61 percent in December 2022, above the national average. (The Capitolist)
- A new competitor against Uber and Lyft is gaining steam in Florida called Hitch. The rideshare platform gives people rides to cities within certain states, including Florida and Texas. Hitching a ride from Orlando to Miami can cost $150 to $250, however the cost can be split with other riders. The company is also hiring drivers. (WPLG Local 10)
