  1. It is likely "impossible" to rid South Florida of Burmese pythons as the invasive snakes spread north, according to research. The species has moved as far north as Fort Lauderdale and is difficult to capture. Nearly 11,000 pythons were removed from the Everglades from 2017 to 2021. (Miami Patch)
  2. Broward County officials have arrested three people in connection to illegal street racing and intersection takeovers. Police also seized six cars from one suspect and two allegedly illegal firearms. Police have denounced the dangerous behavior of the drivers and vowed to crack down on drivers performing stunts and speeding. (NBC Miami)
  3. A 1,000-foot-long, neon bounce house called The Monster is coming to South Florida this month from London from March 17 to March 26. The attraction will include live DJs, drag queens, food vendors and libations to enjoy for guests. Tickets are available online. (Time Out Miami)
  4. Five people were arrested in the shooting of a narcotics detective, according to Miami-Dade Police Director Freddy Ramirez. Police said there were two main suspects in custody and three others who were arrested for harboring a wanted fujitive. Ramirez called for an end to violence against law enforcement. (CBS Miami)
  5. A South Florida man accused of attacking two men with a machete during a dispute on Jan. 27 in Flagami appeared in court on Wednesday. The suspect was arrested by police Tuesday near the intersection of Northwest 11 Avenue and 55 Street in Miami’s Liberty City. He is facing two counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon.
