Man Charged In Death Of Miami Woman Days Before 77th Birthday
Ricardo Alexander Gonzalez was charged with vehicular homicide and other offenses in connection with the hit-and-run death of Hilda Garcia.

MIAMI, FL — A 25-year-old man has been charged with vehicular homicide and other offenses in connection with Sunday's hit-and-run death of Hilda Garcia days before her 77th birthday. Ricardo Alexander Gonzalez was also charged Thursday with attempting to tamper with physical evidence. The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. at NW 37 Ave and 9 Street.
"Once police officers arrived, preliminary investigation revealed that a pedestrian was crossing NW 37th Avenue at NW 9th Street when an unknown vehicle traveling northbound on 37th Avenue hit the victim and fled the scene," Miami police explained.
Garcia's family was heartbroken and appealed to the community for help. Garcia would have celebrated her 77th birthday on Friday.

"The bottom line is they destroyed a family," Garcia's nephew told Local 10 News.
