Man Threatens To Take His Own Life In West Boca

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a West Boca Raton home Tuesday after a male resident threatened to take his life.

WEST BOCA RATON, FL — Palm Beach County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a West Boca Raton home Tuesday after a male resident threatened to take his life. The incident happened in the 8000 block of Twin Lakes Drive, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Social media posts incorrectly stated that the home belonged to a well-known sports figure.

"Deputies made contact with the subject who voluntarily surrendered," explained Teri Barbera of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened shortly after 4 p.m.

"He is currently getting the immediate mental health assistance he needs," she added.
