  1. One person was killed, a second person is injured and a third arrested after an overnight shooting in Miami Beach, according to police. The incident happened at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday near 11th Street and Ocean Drive. The shooting was described as "a targeted and isolated incident." (Miami Beach Patch)
  2. Miami Beach has reversed course and decided to institute an 11:59 p.m. curfew on Sunday night due to "excessively large and unruly crowds." The curfew extendeds between the areas of 23rd Street and Dade Boulevard in Miami Beach. A similar curfew is planned for this weekend as well, starting Thursday night. (WPLG Local 10)
  3. At least one person was killed and eight other people were injured Saturday after a violent crash on the Florida Turnpike in Miami Gardens. At least three children were injured. The incident is currently under investigation by authorities. (WSVN)
  4. Cuban exiles and Cuban Americans gathered at Versailles restaurant in Little Havana on Saturday to protest against Cuba's baseball team, which was in Miami for the World Baseball Classic this weekend to play the United States. "We don't want them here," said one Cuban protestor. (NBC Miami)
  5. Chef and restaurateur Val Chang has opened Maty's in Midtown Miami. The menu is an ode to Peruvian cuisine and includes items, such as black grouper ceviche, yuca rellena, wagyu oxtail saltado, and more. Chang is known in South Florida for helping build Itamae, a Peruvian sushi restaurant in the Miami Design District. (Eater Miami)

  • Miami Beach Police shared: "On Sunday, March 19 at 3:29 a.m. Miami Beach Police officers heard gunshots near 11 Street and Ocean Drive and found one male with gunshot wounds along the 1000 block of Ocean Drive. The male was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Unit, where he later died. A second victim was injured but treated and released on-site. Officers located the subject along the 100 block of 11 Street, where a foot chase ensued. MBPD has confirmed that this was a targeted and isolated incident. The identities of all parties cannot be released while the investigation is ongoing." (Twitter)
  • "Hard Rock Stadium and Brightline announced a partnership that provides guests with dedicated transportation options to attend major upcoming sporting events at the venue, including the 2023 Miami Open presented by Itaú and Miami Dolphins home games for the 2023-2024 season."   • A video captured over the weekend shows good Samaritans working to help someone trapped underneath an ice cream truck. The incident happened near West Pembroke Road at South Park Road, east of First Street, and west of Interstate 95, in South Florida's Pembroke Park. (WPLG Local 10)
