MIA Ranked Best In Florida For Business Travel

Miami International also ranked among the top 10 U.S. airports for business travelers, according to a new study.

MIAMI, FL — Miami International Airport ranks among the top 10 airports in the United States for business travelers, according to a new study. MIA also ranked as the top Florida airport for business travel. The study by travel website TravelBank compared the 30 busiest U.S. airports based on transit accessibility, on-time arrival performance, overall quality satisfaction, parking rates and availability of nearby hotels.

“Our airport is the first impression for business travelers to our community, so this accolade is proof-positive that we are moving in the right direction," declared Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez.

Topping the list of U.S. airports for business travelers were Las Vegas McCarran International, Charlotte Douglas International, Phoenix Sky Harbor International, Salt Lake City International and San Diego International.

“We are proud to be ranked by TravelBank as one of the leading airports in the U.S. for business travelers,” said Miami-Dade Aviation Director Lester Sola. “We look forward to building on this ranking with additional improvements coming soon, which should take our customer satisfaction scores even higher.”

The website also ranked the worst airports in the nation for business travelers. Topping the list from the bottom were New York LaGuardia, Newark Liberty International, New York John F. Kennedy International, San Francisco International and Los Angeles International.

MIA stood out for its high overall quality and service, as well as the availability of more affordable nightly rates at nearby hotels, according to airport officials.

One recent innovation at the Miami airport involves the introduction of two autonomous cleaning vehicles in Concourse D. The programmable, self-driving machines are capable of running for more than four hours at a time. They can polish an area equivalent to about two football fields during that time, according to C&W Services, which operates the machines under a contract with Miami International.
