Miami Beach Police Report Possible Shots Fired Near Synagogue
Miami Beach police said they detained one person as they were investigating a report of possible shots fired near a synagogue.

MIAMI BEACH, FL — Miami Beach police said late Wednesday afternoon they detained one person as they were investigating a report of possible shots fired near a synagogue.
Police said the investigation was focused around 41 Street and Chase Avenue not far from Temple Beth Sholom, which is located at 4144 Chase Ave.
Police did not immediately say if the incident involved the synagogue or whether shots had actually been fired.

Miami Beach police said a firearm was recovered and the person detained.
Traffic was shut down for a time between Prairie and Meridian Avenue along 41 Street, according to Miami Beach police.
"We’ve learned the firearm recovered had been reported stolen," Miami Beach police said. "Our officers arrived on scene within seconds and confronted the armed subject. Incredible restraint displayed by responding officers."
