1. An 11-foot-long female hammerhead shark washed up on Pompano Beach on Wednesday morning, surprising beach visitors who found the carcass near 12th Avenue and 14th Street, according to multiple reports. Constructions crews in the area used their equipment to move the shark to a less crowded part of the beach for evaluation. (Miami Patch)
2. Authorities identified three of the four alleged attackers who officers arrested on Tuesday at Miami Central High School. The group fight, which did not involve weapons, prompted administrators to lockdown the school with more than 1,500 students and issue a code red. (WPLG Local 10)
3. Dozens of companies are using a Miami Bitcoin 2022 conference running through Saturday as a venue to network, pitch ideas, and share announcements. Bitcoin 2022 organizers say at least 75 companies will be making announcements at the conference. Last year, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele made international news at the event, unveiling by video that his country would be the first to make cryptocurrency legal tender. Bukele will be at the conference this year too. (WSVN)
4. City of Miami voters will get a second chance to weigh in on a vast mixed-use downtown project during an August special election that would add a luxury hotel and a site lease of up to a century. The proposed project is Riverside Wharf, a hospitality-driven entertainment complex on the historic Miami River. (Miami Today)
5. Neighbors living in Little Havana said they were blindsided by a notice on their door giving them just two weeks to move out. The multi-family building is in the process of being sold to the city of Miami. The reason for the purchase has never been shared publicly despite the million dollar price tag. The resolution was sponsored by Commissioner Joe Carollo and approved by the city commission in December. (WPLG Local 10)
