1. The Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center has announced its 2023 spring performances beginning with The Machine Performs Pink Floyd on Jan. 14, 2023, followed by a performance of the L’viv National Philharmonic on Jan. 16 and Olujimi Dance: T.W.E.R.K. Jan. 20–22. "Our international lineup provides opportunities for Miami-Dade families to enjoy special programming, and this spring is no exception," said Eric Fliss, Managing Director of the Dennis C. 2. A South Florida man brutally beaten by fugitive with hammer says he’s "lost everything." The victim was attacked in early December while doing laundry at his Miami Beach apartment building. The victim is now bound to a wheelchair, taking medication around the clock, and cared for by his son. (WPLG Local 10)
3. A Kentucky man was arrested mid-December in Miami nearly two years after the Jan. 6, 2021 Insurrection on Capitol Hill. The case was investigated by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. The accused man is charged with eight criminal counts, including assaulting an officer with a dangerous weapon, an act of physical violence at the Capitol, entering a restricted area with a dangerous weapon and others. 4. The Miami City Ballet has formed a partnership with Baptist Health South Florida to provide healthcare to over 50 dancers. "Baptist Health is excited to extend our partnerships into the arts and work with Miami City Ballet to provide world-class medical services for their world-class dancers to ensure performance at the highest level," said Baptist Health Doctors Hospital and Baptist Health Orthopedic Institute CEO Javier Hernandez-Lichtl. 5. Organizers and crews across South Florida are making final preparations for New Year's Eve 2023. Celebrations will be happening throughout Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Local businesses are also preparing for big crowds in celebration. (WSVN)
