Miami-Dade County Runoff Elections: Where To Vote

MIAMI, FL — Miami-Dade County voters in Miami, Miami Beach and Hialeah will head back to the polls for special runoff elections on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

Robert Rodriguez of the Miami-Dade County Elections Department told Patch that all of the results from the Nov. 5 municipal elections have been certified and are now available online for Hialeah, Miami and Miami Beach as well as Homestead.

The biggest surprise came in Miami Beach where Michael "Mike B" Barrineau appeared to finish election night with a one-vote lead over Steven Meiner, who narrowly bested Barrineau in a recount that propelled him to Tuesday's runoff.

Commissioner Wilfredo Gort's District 1 seat will be up for grabs in Tuesday's runoff since no candidate garnered the necessary 50 percent plus one vote to win the race outright. Commissioner Gort had been barred from running in this election based on term limitations.

Vying for Gort's seat in the runoff election will be former Florida State Sen. Alex Diaz de la Portilla and Miguel Angel Gabela.

Seats on the Miami Commission are considered non partisan.

MIAMI BEACH

Miami Beach Commissioner Ricky Arriola is headed to a runoff election to keep his Group V seat. against Raquel Pacheco, who owns a translation service and is running for the first time.

In addition to Arriola's seat, Group IV Commissioner Joy Malakoff and Group VI Commissioner John Elizabeth Alemán. Neither commissioner sought re-election.

Vying for Malakoff's seat will be former Miami Beach Commissioner Kristen Rosen Gonzalez and Steven Meiner who earned a spot in the runoff by two votes in the recount.

Running for Alemán's seat in a runoff will be David Richardson pitted against Adrian Gonzalez.

HIALEAH

In the Group II council runoff race, Jesus Tundidor will take on Luis Gonzalez.

The Group III Council runoff race pits Jackie Garcia-Roves against Milly Herrera.
