1. Five people were injured in two separate shootings in South Beach over spring break weekend. 19-year-old Derrick Mitchell was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed firearm and tempering with evidence in connection to the Monday morning shooting. (Patch Miami, CBS Miami)

2. Police are investigating an early morning drive-by shooting Monday where multiple homes and cars were hit by gunfire in northeast Miami-Dade near Northeast 180th Street and 8th Avenue. Miami-Dade PD said three homes and several vehicles in the area were struck by gunfire, but no people were hit. (NBC Miami)

3. Israel developer Gazit began demolition of a building late last week across from Brickell City Centre where it plans a major project called Brickell Gateway. Demolition is being overseen by the city, not the county. (The Next Miami)

4. Dandy Bear of Kendall announced on Sunday it will be shutting its doors on Sunday, March 27 after 30 years in the community. The amusement is known for hosting kids birthday parties, events with games and an indoor playground. (WSVN)

5. Miami Beach has announced it will declare a "state of emergency" and impose new crowd-control restrictions after two shootings on Ocean Drive this past weekend ended what was a calm Spring Break celebration. Arrests are down from last year when more than 100 guns were confiscated. (Subscription: Miami Herald)
