1. Miami-Dade Mosquito Control will be out on today to spray several cities amid last week’s rainfall. Crews will be spraying Hialeah, Indian Creek, North Miami and North Miami Beach to eliminate mosquitoes and larvae. (CBS Miami)
2. A Hialeah man was arrested on Saturday after officers accused him of stealing phones at the SunFest Music Festival in West Palm Beach. Jose Garcia dropped three stolen phones valued at about $3,800 when a sergeant approached him late Friday night, according to the West Palm Beach Police Department. (WPLG Local 10)
3. After a plan to build a new football stadium for the Miami Hurricanes in Coral Gables was met with backlash, billionaire booster John Ruiz reportedly has his sights set on a new location closer to campus. Ruiz says he now wants the stadium built at Tropical Park in southwest Miami-Dade. (NBC Miami)
4. Miami City Commissioner Ken Russell is dropping out of the U.S. Senate race to run against Republican Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar. Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins has now also jumped into the primary. (CBS Miami)
5. The San Francisco Giants are set to acquire infielder Isan Diaz from the Miami Marlins for a player to be named later or cash considerations, Miami Herald's Jordan McPherson reported. Diaz, 25, appeared in 145 games for the Marlins over the last three seasons. (Yahoo News)
