- A 5,000-mile-wide seaweed algae bloom will impact Florida's Gulf Coast by the end of spring. It could be the largest bloom in history and can be seen from space. The invasive seaweed usually appears in South Florida in May and is already visible in Key West. (Miami Patch)
- The Miami Dolphins is acquiring six-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey from the Los Angeles Rams, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The trade is set to process on Wednesday of this week when the 2023 year kicks off. Ramsey confirmed the news with a tweet stating, "I prayed for this specifically for about a month & now it's happening! @MiamiDolphins LETSGO!" (ESPN, Twitter)
- A man was shot Sunday morning outside a bar in West Palm Beach, according to multiple news reports. The shooting happened at around 7:30 a.m. near Empire Lounge in the parking lot, according to CBS12. (Miami Patch)
- The 76-story Ora By Casa Tua in Miami's Brickell neighborhood is officially launching sales, according to the developer. The tower will rise over 900 feet and plans to include 540 residential units. The development will include four restaurant concepts, including a market and bakery, enoteca wine bar, fine dining, and a rooftop bar and lounge. (The Next Miami)
- South Beach's iconic News Cafe has reopened under new management after a long pandemic closure and is now operated by Vida & Estilo Restaurant Group. The 24-hour cafe was an important part of Miami Beach history and drew big names including Gianni Versace, who dined at the cafe right before his death. The menu has been curated by chef Henry Hane of B Bistro. (Eater Miami)
