Airport spokeswoman Karla Cobreiro said that Miami International is hoping to call attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

She said travelers will notice the pink welcome sign along the airport's Central Boulevard, pink flight information screens and pink ticket counter monitors throughout the airport.

Last year, the Miami-Dade Aviation Department raised more than $35,000 for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk through employee-led food sales, raffles, auctions and activities, according to Cobreiro. She said that the contribution was the most of any Miami-Dade County department.

"This year, MDAD has partnered with concessionaires at Miami International Airport to raise more than $16,000, with the goal of surpassing its 2017 total," Cobreiro added.
