- Miami Commissioner Joe Carollo has accused Billy Corben of being paid to speak out about a lawsuit against Miami City Attorney Victoria Mendez. Mendez is accused of pressuring a local resident to sell their home below market value using her power with the city. Carollo said without evidence, "Mr. Corben is a pay for play individual that has been getting paid for some time to attack this city and so many of us." (NBC Miami)
- Miami-Dade commissioner Eileen Higgens wants to mandate physical menus in restaurants amid an uptick in QR code menus during the pandemic. Higgins said a lack of paper menus impacts children and the elderly and that using paper menus would be more inclusive. (CBS Miami)
- A Miami-Dade Schools police officer was hospitalized on Thursday after crashing into a tree in Miami. The incident happened near Northwest 46th Street and Eighth Avenue. (WSVN)
- Miami-Dade County has launched a program that will issue loans of up to $50,000 to help residents who live in their condos full-time to help them perform building repairs and rehabilitation, according to the county. To qualify, the maximum amount of annual income is $95,610 for a single household, $109,200 for a two-person household, and $122,920 for a three-person household. (The Real Deal - Miami)
- A new 21-story development at 7918 West Drive inspired by Japanese living and architecture has broken ground. The project is being designed by One Designs Co. Ltd, a Tokyo-based architectural design firm and units start at $1.8 million. The development will include a swimming pool, fitness center, garden, club room, and fully equipped chef's kitchen.
