Miami Police Need Help Finding 2 Bandits

Miami police are asking for the public's help in finding two bandits who stole a person's wallet and cellphone.

MIAMI, FL — Miami police are asking for the public's help in finding two bandits who stole a person's wallet and cellphone. Police released a surveillance image of the suspects as they used the victim's credit card at a nearby Walgreen's. The early morning robbery occurred near the intersection of SW 31 Avenue and 19 Terrace.

Officer Michael Vega of the Miami Police Department said that the thieves spoted the victim around 2:15 a.m. on June 20 as the victim was walking southbound on SW 31 Avenue.

"He observed the suspects across the street and walking in the same direction," Vega explained. "The victim found this to be suspicious so he began to walk north. Shortly thereafter, the suspects crossed the street and approached the victim."

Vega said that one of the two male suspects slapped the victim to the ground while the other took his book bag and cellphone.

"The victim's credit card was used a few minutes later at the Walgreens located at 3595 SW 22 Avenue, where detectives were able to obtain footage of the suspects attempting to make a purchase," according to Vega.

One of the suspects was described as a mulatto male, 20 to 25 years of age, approximately 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, 140 pounds and last seen wearing a gray hoodie with dark pants. The other suspect was also described as a mulatto male, 20 to 25 years of age and 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 150 lbs and last seen wearing a black T-shirt with dark shorts.
