"We're going to interact with the community with it," he told Patch. "Let's say we go into the Overtown area and just drive it around, and have the kids play with the lights and siren, take pictures with it, sit in the driver's seat."

While there weren't any children at Thursday's unveiling outside Miami City Hall, the vehicle still got a lot of attention from children at heart.

Alex Vega of The Auto Firm, took on the project of making the first ever Avorza Police Slingshot. The autocycle was donated by Polaris Slingshot.

Whelen Engineering donated the lights and sirens while The Auto Firm donated the Avorza Rims and customization.

"There were a lot of big kids that wanted to see it and drive it," Vega acknowledged with a smile. "The mayor actually drove it with the city manager. A couple of the commissioners drove it too. Then the chief took it for a little ride around City Hall."
