1. After prehistoric human remains and ceremonial artifacts were found in 2021 at the site of a future 75-story condo tower planned in Miami's Brickell area, archaeologists have also discovered evidence of a possible footprint of an ancient dwelling at the 4-acre parcel. (Miami Patch)
2. City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez is under pressure from both Coconut Grove residents and Black activists to veto last week's vote on the redistricting map, which they say gerrymanders the Grove into three districts. A group of active residents authored an open letter in the Coconut Grove Spotlight with all the reasons why the redistricting process was a "sham" and the outcome is "unfair and seemingly unnecessary." 3. Fort Lauderdale Police have released bodycam video of a brawl between a hotel employee and a guest at a Fort Lauderdale Beach hotel. Earlier footage was released when a high-profile attorney tweeted security video of the incident earlier this month. The incident took place at the Best Western Plus along A1A, off Seabreeze Boulevard and just north of Southeast 17th Street, on January 19th.(WSVN)
4. Law enforcement from multiple agencies are investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting on Thursday near a Southwest Miami-Dade home where federal authorities launched an early morning raid and arrested two people. Miami-Dade police say one person was killed in Thursday’s shooting. (CBS Miami)
5. The long-awaited service that would finally bring decades-old public Tri-Rail into downtown Miami is planned for November 1st. Public investment to bring Tri-Rail into the already-functioning station is almost $43 million. (Miami Today)

- A large grass fire in west Miami-Dade is now 40% contained after burning 410 acres, the Florida Forest Service confirmed. From 80 percent containment on Wednesday morning to 40 percent Thursday, the flames continue to burn and the windy conditions are a big concern for those working to put these flames out. - Billionaire Donald Trump and other wealthy Florida residents could pay 20 percent more in taxes under a "Billionaire Minimum Tax" proposed in President Joe Biden's fiscal year 2023 budget proposal. (Miami Patch)
