Patricia Fermin-Cabrera, Region Director Emerging Leader of CVS Pharmacy stores in Miami, was awarded a 2025 National Paragon Award from CVS Health. The annual Paragon Awards recognize the best of the best among CVS Health’s colleagues and are among the highest honors awarded by the company.

Paragon Award recipients are chosen for their commitment to company values and for their dedication to fulfilling CVS Health’s purpose: bringing our heart to every moment of your health. At the same time, they have demonstrated their ability to deliver outstanding business results, lead their teams to excellence, and make substantial contributions to the communities where they live and work. They are considered role models for the entire company.

A CVS Pharmacy colleague since 1998, Fermin-Cabrera is known for developing strong teams and epitomizing exceptional, transformative leadership. Along with her district leader team, she’s hired more than 150 pharmacy leaders and staff, and, through her staffing engagement model, improved customer experience and satisfaction scores in the region. Additionally, Fermin-Cabrera serves as the co-chair for the CVS Health WISE (Women Inspiring Success and Excellence) Colleague Resource Group. During her tenure, she led efforts to expand membership to include the southern states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.

She has a heart for helping people in times of need. In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Fermin-Cabrera organized donation pantries and recruited ten Miami-based CVS Pharmacy store managers to accompany her to Georgia where she facilitated supply distribution efforts in impacted areas. The mom of three and grandmother of four also extends her commitment to caring for others to her family. She’s the primary caregiver for her disabled mother and grandmother who are both living with chronic illnesses. Her selflessness shines brightly at home and in the workplace.

“Paty is more than a leader – she’s a mentor, an inspiration, and someone who is always encouraging others to lead by example, push boundaries, and believe in the power of one collaborative team,” said Ricardo Lopez, Region Director for CVS Pharmacy. “Colleagues and peers consistently praise Paty for her passionate determination to deliver best in class business practices through talent development, empowerment and engagement like none other.”

Every year, CVS Health honors Paragon Award winners from its thousands of store managers, pharmacists, nurse practitioners and pharmacy benefits management employees. The winners were nominated by their supervisors and eventually voted on by CVS Health’s senior leaders. The 2025 Retail Paragon Award winners are being recognized in August as part of the company’s American Pharmacist Month and National Customer Service Week activities.
