1. A dolphin at Miami Seaquarium attacked a trainer in front of a live audience during a Saturday performance. The incident was caught on film by a Kentucky photographer, who shared the video to his TikTok account. According to the Seaquarium, this is the first time the trainer and the dolphin had a collision. (Miami Patch, WSVN)
2. An appeals court Wednesday rejected a potential class-action lawsuit against Miami Dade College over fees collected from students in 2020. The case involved fees for items, such as student services, capital improvements and technology. It did not involve tuition. The appeals court said Miami Dade College was shielded by sovereign immunity, which generally protects government agencies from lawsuits. (Wink News)
3. Reggaeton artist Rauw Alejandro, whose last studio album Vice Versa has remained in the Top 20 Global Albums list on Spotify Charts for almost a year, performed in front of a crowd of about 21,000 people over the weekend at FTX Arena just a week after Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny made waves in the same venue. 4. One of the world's most celebrated bars, the Nomad Bar, is opening in Miami as part the new NoMad Residences Wynwood, the first residential building from the NoMad Hotels and its parent company. It is run by James Beard Award winner Leo Robitschek, who was previously the bar director for New York City’s three-Michelin Star restaurant Eleven Madison Park. (Eater Miami)
5. Miami Worldcenter has teamed up with international art dealer and curator Jeffrey Deitch for a curatorial public art initiative program. It will transform the 27-acre center at 1007 North America Way in downtown Miami. (Subscription: Miami Today)
