Miami Spice 2018: Restaurant Deals That Come Once A Year

MIAMI, FL — August marks the return of the most sizzling restaurant deals of the entire year with the 17th annual Miami Spice. The event runs from Aug. 1 through Sept. 30 and once again includes brunch deals in addition to the fixed price lunch and dinner deals we wait for all year long.

“This year’s program is more robust than ever and offers both residents and visitors alike exclusive, seasonal savings offered in Greater Miami and the Beaches," said President and CEO William D. Talbert, III of the The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, which organizes the annual food celebration.

Since its inception in 2001, participating restaurants have served up more than one million Miami Spice meals. (Sign up for our free Daily Newsletters and Breaking News Alerts for the Miami Patch.). This year 244 restaurants are participating, with 52 first timers.

Participating restaurants can be found in Miami, Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Kendall, Pinecrest, Aventura and throughout the entire Miami-Dade area.

Here's how Miami Spice works: Participating fine dining restaurants will offer three-course prix-fixe Miami Spice menus at reduced prices ($23 per person for lunch and brunch, $39 per person for dinner).

AZABU Miami Beach

Menu Details and Unique Aspect: New participant alert! Not only is this the first year diners can experience AZABU Miami Beach during Spice, AZABU will also be giving diners an extra perk. In addition to the three-course dinner menu, AZABU will offer a chef’s selection starter of the day. For a glimpse into the menu itself, appetizer options include Japanese Wagyu Tataki Truffle Ponzu, entrees include Branzino with Umami Butter or Chirashi Sushi Bowl, and dessert options include Matcha Cheesecake.

The Betsy Hotel
Miami Spice brings special savings at tsome of the finest restaurants under the South Beach sun including The Betsy’s LT Steak & Seafood (lunch $23 and dinner $29) and for the first time ever, The Alley (lunch $19 and dinner $29). The Betsy is located at 1440 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach.

Bird & Bone

Menu Details and Unique Aspect: Chef Richard Hales’ southern-inspired restaurant offers a three-course Miami Spice dinner menu that includes a complimentary glass of house Red or White Wine (usually $12-14 on the menu) or choice of Signature Cocktail (usually $14 or $15 on the menu).

Boulud Sud Miami

Menu Details and Unique Aspect: Chef Daniel Boulud’s Boulud Sud Miami recently opened this year, making this the restaurant’s first Miami Spice. The menu will rotate every two weeks with new Mediterranean-inspired dishes meaning you can try up to four different menus throughout Miami Spice! The dishes draw inspiration from the coastal Mediterranean, including France’s Côte d’Azur, Spain, Italy, Greece, Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon, Israel, and Turkey.

Bulla Gastrobar Doral and Coral Gables

For only $39, at Bulla Gastrobar, not only can you pick from a excellent list of three courses (including dessert), but you can also enjoy a complimentary glass of any sangria you’d like. The Doral restaurant is located at 5335 Northwest 87th Avenue C102, Doral. The Coral Gables restaurant is located at 2500 Ponce de Leon Boulevard, Coral Gables.

Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill

Menu Details: Offering some of Miami’s freshest fish options, Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill at The Plymouth, Miami Beach is blessing the taste buds of Miami diners with three appetizer options including Kanpachi Usuzukuri comprised of thinly sliced amberjack, yuzu pepper and yuzu ponzu; five entree options including a sushi platter with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, albacore, whitefish, mackerel, shrimp, and choice of 1 roll, the famed Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken or Oxtail Fried Rice; and four dessert choices including Ginger Bread Pudding. The restaurant receives its fish from Japan daily, so you know this is the spot.

Jaya at The Setai

Menu Details and Unique Aspect: Known for their next-level Spice menu, Jaya at The Setai is back at it again with a stunning dinner menu plus a specially priced Miami Spice sake menu. In partnership with Joto Sake, Jaya is offering four sake bottle selections for $24 each. The sake selection includes Joto Hou Hou Shu Sparkling & Sparkling Pink, Marborshi Junmai Ginjo, Joto Daiginjo and Joto Nigori. The menu features four appetizer options including Truffle Dumplings and Wagyu Bao Buns, four entree options including Tandoor Sea Bass and Vegetarian Red Curry and three dessert options including Peach Crisp and Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding.
