MIAMI, FL — A missing 10-year-old Miami girl who was the subject of a statewide amber alert has been located.

"Ten-year old Randi Canion has been located and recovered," Officer Mike Vega of the Miami Police Department said late Wednesday afternoon.

A Florida statewide amber alert was issued Tuesday for Canion, who had been missing since Saturday.

Police said the girl may have been traveling in a white van with an unidentified male. Vega said she had run away from home several times in the past.

"We just need the pubic's help in finding this young girl who may be in danger," Vega told reporters in appealing for the public's help in locating the girl. "In none of the other times that she's run away, it has gone for this long. They've always had some sort of communication with her."

Police said Canion had been last seen around the 7800 block of North Bayshore drive in Miami. To report a tip, call the Miami Police Department at 305-603-6300 or dial 9-1-1.
