Here's a list of what's open, closed in Miami and Miami-Dade County on New Year's Day.

MIAMI, FL — Miami-Dade County offices will be closed on Wednesday in honor on New Year's Day.
Miami-Dade Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule Jan. 1. while Metrorail and Metromover services will be extended until 2 a.m. on Jan. 1.
Solid Waste Management will collect trash as scheduled on Jan. 1.

Animal Services will be closed on New Year's Day as will Miami-Dade Public Libraries.
The City of Miami Department of Solid Waste will conduct its regularly-scheduled garbage, recycling and bulky trash services on New Year’s Day.

Residents who receive garbage, recycling and bulky trash services should place their items in front of their home in the public right of way the evening before collection day.
All garbage, recycling and bulky trash items should be placed five feet away from all objects. Residents can also dispose of their bulky trash items at the Solid Waste Department’s Mini Dump Facility located on 1290 NW 20th St.
The Mini Dump will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on New Year's Day.
