Here are the top stories today in Miami:

1. Outgoing City of Miami Commissioner Ken Russell abruptly stormed out of Thursday's city commission meeting and threatened to immediately resign. The commission was discussing canceling its last December meeting when the incident occurred. Miami Mayor Francis Suarez and other commissioners did not respond to requests for comment. (NBC Miami)

2. A fire erupted just after midnight at a home in the Courtly Manor mobile home park, located in the 12400 block of West Okeechobee Road. Five people were injured in the fire. An investigation is underway as to the cause of the fire. (WPLG Local 10)

3. One of New York City's most successful restaurants has opened on Sunny Isles Beach. Avra Estiatorio originally opened in New York City 22 years ago and has now opened in South Florida. The restaurant features floor-to-ceiling windows with waterfront views. (Eater Miami)

4. A driver accused of fleeing from a deputy while speeding through the Florida Keys is in police custody. Ronald Anthony Bennett, 20, of Tavernier was charged with fleeing and eluding. (Florida Keys Patch)

5. A Miami police officer is under investigation after allegedly slamming a man and injuring him outside his family business on Thursday night, according to authorities. Miami Police said, "At this time, we can confirm that our Internal Affairs Section is handling an open investigation reference this case. Therefore, we are not at liberty to comment until the investigation is closed." (WPLG Local 10)
