Jennifer Jimenez, who has taught at the school for 17 years, is celebrated by students for her demanding but caring style and says the honor is really about elevating Miami-Dade schools, the City of Miami, and her community.
   

2. 1 airlifted, 3 others hospitalized after vehicle crashes through fence outside home in North Miami (wsvn.com) — A serious crash in North Miami sent four people to the hospital Friday afternoon after a car plowed through a fence outside a home near Northwest 10th Avenue and 125th Street. One person was airlifted and three others were taken by ambulance, and officials are still investigating what caused the vehicle to veer off the road.

Emergency foodstuffs from Florida Catholics delivered to people in eastern Cuba (osvnews.com) — Miami’s Catholic Charities is coordinating repeated relief flights from Miami International Airport to deliver tons of food and supplies to hurricane‑stricken communities in eastern Cuba, backed heavily by South Florida donors. Local clergy and lay leaders are personally escorting shipments, continuing a decades‑long tradition of the Archdiocese of Miami supporting Caribbean neighbors after major storms.
   

4. ‘Possibly 100 victims': Miami Shores man arrested in boat fraud case, accused of stealing nearly $500K from boaters worldwide (wsvn.com) — Police say a Miami Shores man is at the center of a major boat fraud case that may involve up to 100 victims worldwide and nearly half a million dollars in losses. Opa-locka officers arrested the suspect at the airport with help from Miami-Dade authorities, and investigators are urging anyone who paid for an undelivered or defective Up Boats vessel to come forward.
   

5. Hollywood residents warn e‑bikes are making Broadwalk more dangerous (cbsnews.com) — Electric bikes and scooters are increasingly zipping along Hollywood’s Broadwalk despite city rules that only allow human‑powered devices, and CBS News Miami found riders ignoring posted bans. With 136 bike‑related accidents reported this year and police saying enforcement is difficult, some residents worry authorities aren’t doing enough to prevent a serious crash.
