1. Prada's newest experiential pop-up and capsule collection launched on April 14 at the Miami Design District store and will be available through May 9. The Tropico collection explores some of Prada’s most coveted pieces and designs, which are available to purchase in-store at one of the experiential pop-ups as well as online. (Ocean Drive)
2. A jury has found a former Miami-Dade Police officer Alejandro Giraldo guilty of official misconduct and battery in connection to a rough arrest in 2019 that left a mother traumatized and triggered outrage across the country. Giraldo faces up to five years in prison and will be sentenced this summer. (WSVN)
3. The caretaker of an elderly person who is legally blind and has dementia, along with her partner, is accused of stealing approximately $130,000 from her. Evelyn Dinora Lopez De Ramirez De Hernandez, 45, and Yuri Hernandez, 45, are facing multiple counts of financial exploitation of the elderly. (CBS Miami)
4. An indictment was handed down Thursday in the killing of Jorge Diaz-Johnston, the brother of former Miami Mayor Manny Diaz who was the plaintiff in a historic same-sex marriage lawsuit. 37-year-old Steven Yinger faces five charges including first-degree murder, tampering with evidence and grand theft. 5. A Florida Highway Patrol trooper and another driver were taken to Broward Health Medical Center after being involved in a crash on I-95 early Thursday morning. Both parties involved received non-life-threatening injuries. (CBS Miami)
